I thought of several household names, at random, and am going to see if they have ever been invited to the Met Gala. First guest is….

YESLADY DIANA – In 1996, three years before Anna Wintour took on the role as chair, Lady Diana attended wearing a wearing a navy blue slip dress with lace trimmings from John Galliano‘s first collection. Sadly, she died was killed the next year.

YES – GWENETH PALTROW wearing Prada in 2012 has attended the gala at least half a dozen times despite having hated on the Met Gala in the past. She was quoted saying, ““It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all.” That attitude didn’t stop her from attending several times after the fact.

YES – SERENA WILLIAMS – The tennis star wore an embroidered silver-coloured bodysuit by Gucci, which featured floral motifs in the front. Over the suit, the 39-year old wore a huge feathered ombre cape.

NO!!! – JUSTIN TRUDEAU – Whatever your politics may be, you can’t argue Justin & Sophie would look good on the red carpet. A Vogue article described him as “Strikingly young and wavy-haired…dashing in his blue suit and jaunty brown shoes—a stylistic riposte to the old world of boringly black-shoed politicians.”

YES!!! – HARRY POTTER aka Daniel Radcliffe but it was his one and only gala. The wizard boy and his date, Rose Hemingway attended in 2012 a year after the release of the last of the Harry Potter move series.

YES!!! – Three of the Original ’90s SUPERMODELS – Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, and Kate Moss in 1995 – who defined a decade with their iconic faces. What makes it even better? They’re all still Met Gala mainstays.
